HUMAN COLONISTS OVERVIEW: [link] The Human race had spread through a large part of the Furor Solar Interstellar Neighborhood and had become a widely known race in the Galaxy. Albeit, their territory is large for a race which had only started to expand into space for about a thousand years, they lack unity, and every single Colony (a group of star systems) is an individual nation in it's own right, and there were many conflicts between Humans in their long history. Even to this day, they tend to distrust one another. However, they are not to be underestimated, for when a common enemy arises, they will unite under a single goal and fight together. This lack of unified leadership stems from the simple reason that the planet Earth, their home, was scorched beyond recognition and remains uninhabitable, while the Colonies were left to fend for themselves. Things did not get any easier, for conflicts had continued, not just between Humans, but with other races as well, and with each Colony working for itself, thus each becoming different from the other, they are known as a highly unpredictable race, for some Colonies are peaceful lovers of knowledge, while others are aggressive, intolerant and warlike.
HUMAN BIOLOGY: Since the thousand years that passed when they first entered space, Human physiology had changed little on the outside, but it's on the inside that the real change matters. The hardy new conditions they were introduced to had the Humans evolve a hardened bone structure and thicker muscle mass, while the introduction of new technologies and discovery had them arise their overall standard IQ level to 150, and lastly, their life spans had increased from 100 years to 200, while there were individuals who used modern technology to live as long as 300. It was also known for Human Soldiers to undertake a degree of genetic enhancement, stimulating muscle growth and bone density, making them physically stronger, tougher and resistant. Their brains were also implanted with micro-chips that allow them to have photographic memory, increase thinking speed and controls the hormone flow through the body, therefore they can be far more tactically aware and capable of thinking rationally in the hottest of situations. Cybephillia, the concept of compassion towards machinery appearing in some individuals, is a widespread phenomenon among Humans, and some individuals have started to willingly implant themselves with cybernetic and bionic implants, without any medical requirement to begin with.
HUMAN HISTORY: -2161: Earths Great Governments (most notably USA, UK, Germany, Russia, China and Japan) had took note of a dwindling supply of mineral resources and gasoline, as well as increase of terrorist activity. To address these concerns, new methods have been discovered of gathering and refining energy, the most notable of which was Thermal-Energy. In Europe, it was Greece that lead the distribution of thermal energy, due to the number of still active volcanoes within it's borders. However, even with this radical new discovery, terrorist attacks continued, and perhaps even intensified, for only a few countries could harness this energy, while only the richest could afford it. Earths Great Governments came together once more, and declared the start of the Simian Interstellar Exploratory Operation, and scientists around the world had gathered to experiment with specifically bred Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Orangutans and Gibbons, modifying their genetic structure, teaching them basic knowledge. -2217: The Simians Interstellar Exploratory Operation was complete, and a fleet of spaceships was launched into space, fully manned by these biologically altered apes. The Simian Fleet would spend 21 years exploring the space around the planet Earth and the Sol System. Over these years, one by one, the Simian ships would drift too far and would loose contact with Earth. By the time the last Simian ship was lost, Humanity discovered nearly 100 planets fully habitable for mankind. -2239: It is at this time that the Solar Migration Fleet project had begun. While the Simians did vanish, they did prove that prolonged star journeys are possible, therefore allowing Mankind to advance their space-travel technology, including the prototypes of the Flash-Engines. By gathering many scientists soldiers and survivalists, as well as any volunteers who passed the necessary requirements, the Earths Great Governments begun training these men and women so that they would pioneer the newly found colonies which would stretch beyond Earths borders. However, fearing that one power might get an upper hand over the other, the Earths Great Governments chose a neutral country to sponsor the Solar Migration Fleets, Greece. -2315: The Solar Migration Fleet was launched into space, thus commencing the First Great Migration. The Fleet was comprised of nearly a hundred Migratory Vessels, each was massive and could sustain as far as 10,000 Humans and was fully capable of sustaining life for prolonged journeys. Each Migratory Vessel would target one habitable planet discovered by the Simians. But once the ships had left the Sol System, a Magnetic Storm enveloped Earth, and the planet lost contact with the Fleets, and most of it's technologies had started to fail as well, thus being forced to use technologies equivalent to those of the 21st Century. -2324: With their fleet now missing, the planet was left with a dwindling supply of resources and anarchy was ripe. Over time, the greater powers would devour the smaller ones, and World War III would begin and rage for years, after that, Earth fell silent. Meanwhile, in this time period, the Migration Fleets had found their way to their new homes, and with each disconnected from the other, they had started to advance on their own, thus each becoming it's own Colony. They were forced to rediscover many things on their own and build civilization from scratch. -around 2400: Since the 25th Century and onward, the newly found Colonies would grow and prosper, each in it's own way. The Colonies would become their own nations and would use the Migratory Vessels as their capitals, while trying to make their own civilizations as they saw fit. -around 2550: It is at about this time that the Colonies started to explore their space further, discovering not only each other, but many alien races as well. According to the experiences they had met, the Human Colonies would grow differently from one another. For example, the Hermes Colony met aliens with FTL technology and thus became curious explorers, the Athena Colony went in pursuit of knowledge and understanding, while Ares was plagued by alien raiders and thus had to become a warrior nation. As this period progressed, new technologies were invented and many scientific discoveries were made. This is also the period when Humanity would be reunited with the Simians. However, the Simians did not join the Humans, but instead continued to explore the galaxy, living as nomads, surviving as mercenaries. -2617: The Titan Colonies, most notably Kronos, Oranos, Prometheus and Atlas, had decided to reconquer the Human Colonies and form a single unified Empire. And so, the Colonial Conquests begun, with Humans fighting Humans in raging fire fights. The Titan Colonies would form a powerful alliance, and would indoctrinate other Colonies into their fold, thus becoming stronger. Many other Colonies tried to oppose them, but none were strong enough to do so alone. Many desperate acts were made, hundreds of battles have been waged and billions of lives were lost. The Colonial Conquest lasted for a century, until the Zeus, Poseidon and Hades Colonies decided to make their own temporary alliance of Colonies, and those willing to fight for their freedom would fight against the Titan Colonies, thus bringing and end to the Colonial Conquests. -2735: It is in this year that the Titan Colonies were defeated, but the Alliance of Free Colonies (lead by Zeus, Poseidon and Hades) would propose a peace treaty. On the planet Vronit, the capital of the Zeus Colony, one Archon (political leader, each Colony is ruled by a council) from each Colony would have to gather, and terms of surrender were made. Afterwords, they installed the Total Technological Treaty, where each Colony would offer all the technology they would discover and share it with the others, so that no Human Colony would gain an upper hand against another. This sharing of technology was the only thing that tied the Humans together. However, even after this event, there was still bad blood between Colonies, and grudges would be kept till the present day (3126). -2791: Only a few decades after the Colonial Conquests had ended, the Galactic Republic had made it's first appearance in Human Colonial Space and proposed to them to join the Galactic Unification. This could have hardly come at a worse time, for Humanity had just ended a bloody war for freedom. Many Colonies had politely denied, some of which however asked that they become trading partners instead, thus gaining access to some knowledge they could have hardly dreamed of. But there were a few Colonies that reacted to the Galactic Republics offer with aggression. Small firefights between Human soldiers and Galactic Peackeepers had erupted, and the Galactic Republic deems the Human race too shaky to fully negotiate with until they have become unified. Thanks to the Total Technological Treaty, the knowledge some Colonies gained through trade with the Republic was shared to the other Colonies, most notable of which were the coordinates of more habitable planets, among them was Earth, the home they had nearly forgot about. Colonies would start mobilizing their fleets to conquest and expansion, thus the Second Great Migrations begun. -2824: The Hermes Colony had gathered an exploratory flotilla and launched it to Earth. At long last, they would be able to see what has happened of their homeplanet, of which they but heard stories of. But what they found was a barren wasteland, with not a single sign of life or hope. In addition to this, the Sol System was being used as an outpost by the Terrack Empire. The Exploratory Flotilla encountered a Terrack Patrol and a brief firefight would ensue, while the Humans would hastily try to retreat. Only a bare few survivors had made it back to Hermes, thus warning them of the Terrack, which was the very first time the two races would meet, but it wouldn't bee the last. -3072: Until this point, the Human race has had no further contact with Terrack. At this year, the Colony of Demeter, an agricultural realm of 15 Star Systems, was invaded by Terrack, and annihilated. This would mark the beginning of the Terrack Genocide. Many would call this war between Humans and Terrack, but in truth, it is extermination. -3126: The Terrack Genocide is still raging, and even the most powerful Colonies are under attack, so it is in this year that the Alliance of Free Colonies came together once more, and decided to fight the aliens as one. But even like this, Humanity bears little hope of victory and very survival. This is the present time, and Terrack has arrived to destroy all.
HUMAN CULTURE: Although each Colony is an individual nation in itself, all Humans are noted to be ambitious, curious and relentless in anything they pursue. Since the First Great Migrations, it was Greece that sponsored the Solar Migration Fleets, and so the Human Culture had imprinted upon that of the Greek. Of all the languages the Humans had invented, it is Greek that takes precedence, while other languages are seen as only secondary and necessary, but instead show their ancestral origins through speech. In addition to Greek culture and language, the Humans had also named all of their Colonies after Greek Gods (Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Athena, Hermes, Ares), Titans (Oranos, Kronos, Gaia, Atlas, Prometheus) and Heroes (Hercules, Odysseus, Achilles, Perseus. Ajax, Jason) and many other mythological figures from ancient Greek culture. Unlike most races who either detest robotics or utilize them greatly, the Humans have a mixed view on this. While some Colonies have automated servants to aid them whenever they please, others simply use them for tedious tasks and chores, and a rare few still prefer to use their own two hands to get things done instead of rely on machinery. As varying as their methods can be, it is agreed upon that Humans have a ''neutral'' view on Robotics. When Humans encounter Alien races, the result may vary. When meeting a ''primitive race'' (hasn't reached star-travel yet) the Human behavior varies from Colony to Colony. Some simply ignore them, others try to share knowledge with them, a few may even try to assert themselves as living Gods to them, while there are still those who would violently assault, oppress or outright exterminate them. When meeting races beyond the star-travel age, the most common response is a trade proposition, while others simply try to negotiate their way to have an ''embassy'' on the planet but some would have none of that and simply show off their military might and seek to destroy or subjugate the aliens, and claim their planet as a new addition to their Colony. This kind of behavior has lead the Galactic Republic to have split opinions on the Human race and their rapid expansions.
HUMAN ECONOMY: Humans, despite common belief shared in the Galaxy, are trade-friendly (except some highly aggressive Colonies, most notable of which are Ares, Hades, Kronos and Kaos) and will willingly enter in social contracts and inter-planetary trade, not only with each other, but with other races as well. The exact merchandise sold varies from Colonies. While some primarily orient around agricultural and farming needs, others trade with technologies, ranging from computers and robots, to ships and hovercrafts, and even guns on the black market. It is even rumored, that some Titan Colonies enter in slave-trade, selling off ''useless''' members of society and prisoners of war as labor force. However, all in all, the Human Colonies have a very stable and wide-spread economy within the Furor SIN. This had also lead Humans to fall in friendly contacts with many mercenary factions, most notably the Simian Guilds, and recently the M.A.O.M.D. Corporation.
HUMAN RELIGION: Ever since the 22nd century, religious beliefs were being shunned by the society, worship declined and fact trumped faith. It has been like this to the very present day of the 32nd century, with the majority of the Human populace being ''Godless'', but there are still some lesser branches that still partake in religious ceremony and occult practices, but are mostly ignored. Note, that Humans will still make references to a number of religious scripts, and most notably they still use the terms such as ''God'' and ''Hell'' (such as ''oh my God'' or ''go to Hell'') but most of them believe in neither.
HUMAN GOVERNMENT: Each Colony is a nation in it's own right, and has absolute freedom to adapt and advance however it wishes. As long as it abides to the Total Technological Treaty, all is well with the other Colonies, however if a Colony is discovered to possess technology not mentioned before, or openly decline to share it will be confronted by other Colonies in political manners, or even outright war. Also, if a Colony threatens the freedom and prosperity of another Colony, either by political oppression or military confrontation, a similar act is taken, but this one is more likely to end with blood. Each Colony is comprised of a multitude of Star Systems and all the planets within them, so a large Colony such as Zeus has 21 Star systems (most of which however have no habitable planets to settle upon and are merely used as territory) while a smaller one like Icarus would have only 4 (with only 1 habitable planet). Each Colony is ruled by a Council of Archons. An Archon is a political leader and each receives a province over which he personally rules (which can be the size of a country, a continent, or entire planets). The Archon Council is the ultimate leadership of a Colony. Decisions are made by voting, each Archon gets a vote and debates and arguments are a daily thing within a Council. All Archons are equal in rank, however some Colonies may introduce an ''Archon Prime'' who is referred to as ''First Among Equals'' and acts as the ruling head and figure of the Colony, and his vote is usually the decisive one, but his title bears no actual meaning and is equal to a regular Archon.
HUMAN MILITARY: Human soldiers (as stated above) are genetically improved and augmented, thus making them physically superior to ordinary Humans. Most Colonies have training camps where those who wish to fight for their planet may join in, receive extensive training before the biological enhancement and then joining the military. At times of war, a Colony has every right to instate martial law, where all men above 16 years has to enlist in the army and become a soldier or face punishment. More warlike Colonies such as Ares have this martial law instated at all times, for they expect war at all times. A Human soldier serves his military for a set amount of time, which can range from months, to years and even as far as a life time. The Soldiers do not only utilize guns and pistols in a fight, but are also equipped with swords and daggers, which they use proudly and practice combined arms warfare, in preparation for any threat that may come their way. Human technology is somewhat odd to the other races, more specifically their las-shot weapons. Las-shot is when a gun shoots a metal bullet and a concentrated infrared laser at the same time. The metal bullet becomes heated and the laser pulsates through it's alloy, thus doubling the effect of a single shot. They are also known to have heat-seeking missiles, electro-static grenades, bombs that erupt with molten plasma and most potent of all, the Ion-Particle Cannons, which shoot ionized particles at high speed and velocity, and shred anything in it's direction. These weapons are usually added to heavier vehicles and walkers, and much larger variations are added on battleships. Humans also use Hovercrafts extensively. Hovercrafts are vehicles which move by skimming across the surface, although many races had made this technology before, the Human version is noted as clumsy and robust compared to those of M.A.O.M.D. or the Celestial Alliance. Hovercrafts lift themselves by activating powerful propellers attached to their bottoms and then propelled forwards by jets. Human Aircrafts and Battleships however have been known to be among the fastest crafts, sacrificing maneuverability for movement speed. In battle, Humans will rarely fight up front, but will prefer to cut off supply lines, hit from the flanks and assault them viciously when the enemy is at it's weakest. The mobility of infantry is combined in unison with the firepower of vehicles and the flexibility of walkers, while Aircrafts provide covering staring runs and engage enemy flyers in fast-paced dog fights. Humans fight smart and ruthlessly, using any means to justify their end, which is nothing short of glory and victory.

they what i imagined humanity turning out to be. just trying to survive. proves that we humans are homicidal killers but very crafty and very able to survive
Well I did try to think of the most logical outcome for Humanity in a somewhat distant future. I also took the basic of Human nature and tried to push it to the limit, displaying what Humans are capable of doing when push comes to shove.
ah humanity. even when we have advanced technologies and the capability to expand into the vast stars, were always stepping on eachothers toes. We love to fight, we love to gloat, and we love to push people around. Unperdictable since the begining of our time.
LOL, anyway. this is an interesting uniform and design, i imagine this is only the outfit for one of the many many human colonies. love the over all feel of this picture, good work!
Yes, that was the idea behind Humans in MECHAROK. And if that is what we do with our own kind, imagine what we can do to some unlucky aliens
Also, this is supposed to be a General of a Human army, and most armor designs look similar between most Colonies due to the Total Technological Treaty.
On a side note: [link] machine fetish might not be a bad thing
So, any other thoughts about the Human Colonists?
